Alternator alignment
Hey all. I’ve had ongoing issues with the serpentine belt screech. I’ve adjusted tension multiple times and the screech comes back. Finally I cracked the adjustment bracket. In removing the items I notice the main mounting/pivot bolt has a ton of slop in it. So when I adjust the tension, the alternator pulley becomes crooked. I have gathered the Scion xD bracket parts to modify and replace the original bracket. Big difference in thickness and quality. I’m sure this is where my squeak is coming from.
My question is...does the lower alternator mounting bolt location have a replaceable bushing? Or what would you suggest to tighten the mount? The bolt is not worn at all. |
