Identify this part
I just picked up a 2013 yaris. Two odd parts were in the glove box when I got it. One was the glove box damper. Does anyone know what the other part is or does?

Wouldn't be the shaft that slides in the damper?

Looks like a tiny diameter ferro rod pretending to be a larger diameter ferro rod.
