from the gauge cluster? maybe if it is not soldered in....

It's an LED, not a bulb, so you'd have to desolder it, or just pull the face off of the cluster and put a small piece of electrical tape over it.

I've also put a dot of permanent black marker on a surface mount LED's lens, to make it be not so bright, but still visible.
