Looking for my second Yaris

Hi!!

I am looking forward to purchase a new Yaris, I am still keeping my old one and I can say I pretty much know the car. However, I've been told that the fuel economy has decreased in the new model. In Panama we get the XP150 model (picture below), and several friends who have already purchased have told me this. It is the same engine (2nz-fe) but it looks like the rest of the car is heavier than the old version.

Can somebody tell me if this is true?
Does anyone owns it already?

This is the one I currently have

This is the one I am going to buy:

That is correct. The first generation Yaris was lighter than the 2nd and 3rd generation ones are, so you will lose a small amount of fuel economy.

so, according to the specs of the 1st gen, it weights 2943 pounds and the new one, 3306 pounds, 363 pounds more than the old one. Does that really make a huge difference in fuel economy?

Huge difference, no. About the same as traveling with 2 passengers in your current vehicle.
