I like the mini's. If you can afford it, go for it. It's kinda like comparing a Solara to an IS-c. :p It costs more but is a better car.

If you still owe that much on the Yaris it might be a good idea to keep it till it's paid off. The mini's will still be there. :p

Marcus... if you can afford it and you want it.... do it. Get that out of your system or you may always regret it. The mini is an awesome car and life is short. Don't be too irresponsible, but don't be so cautious you spend your life waiting for fun, but take into consideration that maintenance on a Mini is much, much more expensive. It is a premium car after all.
I would have bought a mini and might again one day, but I've had a couple nice "irresponsible" cars and I'm back in saving mode with the Yaris. Let us know what you decide. |

a yaris convertible would rock, maybe one day...:http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...-8&sa=N&tab=wi
but if you're sold on the mini, I say yes go for it! but don't let your mode of transportation define you, a car is usually just a car |

Aside from the obvious handling difference, the Mini feels small compared to the Yaris. In a good way. The seating position is low, no space is wasted around the driver and if you ever consider giving more than one friend a ride, the backseat heros better have no feet.
All in all, the whole point of the Mini is different to that of the Yaris. As said, do it or else you'll regret it :) |

I owned an '05 Cooper S coupe for a while. A very nice car.
I will say that, with the 17" alloys w/run-flats, the MINI didn't deal with snow too well. If you go with any of the larger OEM alloy/tire combos, you might want to have a set of dedicated snows. The MINI (like most German cars) will have a few more squeaks and rattles compared to the Yaris. Being "a BMW in British clothes", expect to pay some steep repair costs on the MINI if you're not covered by warranty. Overall, the MINI is a great little car; enjoy it if you wind up getting one! EDIT: North American MINI is the big forum for MINI in the States. MINI2 is the big one over in Britain. Loads of info there - if a bit biased.

Install a moon roof in your Yaris and keep it. With my Webasto Hollandia 730 moon roof fully open I sure feel like my Yaris is a convertible.
