Tire Pressure and Gas Economy
I am sure this has been in the forum at one point... Can someone link me to it? Anyway, I was wondering what tire pressure would give the best gas milage in the LB? Thanks.

You have to choose the pressure that Toyota mentions in the manual.
For mine it is 30psi.

Actually I would say 2 pounds over on each tire, because youll have less rolling resistance, and save gas,and over time you will leak air,so they will be more correct in a week. This is the way to go.

The best tire pressure is the number located either in your manual or inside the drivers's door on side panel. I think for the 4 door, it is 32PSI.

Yes 32psi is the correct number.
Last week, I forgot to lower the tyre pressure after a trackday and I went to check it.Oh my God, it was 50psi!The car's handling was awful and it was oversteering all time long!Hahaha

Thanks all. I know with my parents' priuses, the best tire pressure is higher than the one in the manual.

That isn't always the best for gas economy though. The gas milage improves with pressure greater than recommended for my parents' priuses. The type of tire also effects the gas economy as well. Certain tired only give 41 and others give 55. There is a big difference.

Hey kitten, always go with the vehicle manifacture's set air pressure, in our case 32. This is where you want it for everday driving, and try Nitrogen in your tires as well, it helps keep a more constant air pressure inturn giving better gas mileage

Thanks I knew about the nitrogen. That is what my parents use in their cars I believe. Though they also use a higher tire pressure than the manual says to improve gas milage.

higher pressure =better MPG, but more$$$ in tires, because they wear out faster
