Yes, for all the money wasted on these stupid things, you could have a cage that actually does something significant.

Or, you could stop wasting your time saying they don't work.

A few work, most of them don't. I've always said that.

It's ok.. I'd defend my empty wallet too if I spent a bunch of money on useless bracing that inhibited my passenger space and cargo carrying ability.

I'd be upset that I could have spent half as much and got a roll cage that actually increases structural rigidity, and could still allow me to carry passengers and stuff.

Still, passengers and cages don't really mix together, at least they don't in my car.

Yes, I would tend to agree, but a padded 4 point without a harness mount would actually allow someone to sit back there if you had to.

I used to drive this every day, so I might be a little more adventureous than most.

Exactly, now you are on the right track, except mounting anything to the top of the rear shock mount is like mounting it to jello.

I once parked on a side slope and had to open the hatch, when I went to close it it would not line up and closed with friction. I could not believe the flex in the frame to cause this, the two bars will help lots to stiffen the chassis.

Interesting, I've hade my car jacked up from the rear in one corner, and tried opening the doors and hatch to see if there was any flex and never had a problem. Everything worked perfect. I was impressed actually.
