Power Enterprise supercharger install

Almost done installing power enterprise supercharger kit. Have had to modify a few things in the process. The supercharger bracket is built for the vitz of course. I had to fabricate a extension out of a piece of 1/4" flat steel at the bottom bolt hole that bolts through the base of the alternator. The bracket was off about an inch. With this diffence I had to run down to napa and get a 2" longer v-belt in order to get the tensioner positioned correctly. All of the plumbing provided with the kit is spot on. I'm intercooling it with a jdm intercooler kit so I am in the process of routing that. Its a tight fit but I'll make it work. Had to trim some of my crash bar (didn't have a choice) to tuck in plumbing in to clear the bumper. Also had to trim one of the pipes provided from jdm along with one of the 90 degree 2" couplers. All thats left after the plumbing gets wrapped up is wiring of the p-con sub computer. Then fill it up with premium and fire it up.

Love how this kit is advertised as being direct bolt on.

What's next? Factory fitment using angle grinder? lol

The installation of any IC on the chassis will require a trimming of the crashbar.

pics during install of PE supercharger kit

Here are some of the pics of the supercharger kit being installed. There is one pic of the fabricated supercharger bracket using a piece of thick flat steel to connect the bottom bolt hole at the base of the alternator. Went to napa and got a longer v-belt since it moved the bracket up and out about a inch.
Since those pictures were taken I also moved the pulse air cleaner so it would clear the forward edge of the top of the bumper. Just fabbed up a 90 degree piece of tubing that came with the jdm intercooler kit. I'll take a pic of it once I have it put back together. Waiting on a 2 to 2.5" coupler to show up in the mail to adapt the 1zz throttle body I just got to the 2" PE supplied tube that goes into the throttle body.

I'm interested to see how well the engine management works with this in regards to CEL' and reliability. Other than the bracket it looks like a straightforward install. As well it seems that this one would be much lighter than the Blitz s/c

What's the price of this s/c?

A lot. If you search for some older threads, you will find where this thing originally was offered up for sale. At that time, it was a special one only, one time offer for over $3K. They retailed for a comparable amount to the Blitz. P/E seems overpriced to me given it is really only a compressor and some tubing. At least for the money, Blitz cast a whole new manifold.

That only happens when product demand facilitates lowering the price point.

$4,350 USD currently Way too much $$

Ouch, as fun as boosting a Yaris would be it is hard to justify when I costs that much money and the performance is so limited.

Or at least limited where I live if you want the car to be street legal. Standalone ECU's cause an etest failure. Hence why a wrx is so appealing to me, tons of potential to go as far a you want with power and the ECU isn't a limiting point if you have an accessport since you can switch on or off certain CEL's.

Didn't pay $4350. Got mine through rdh japan for $1000 less than that. That's just not any compressor. Its a rotex. Told 7 psi is max boost attainable.

If you already have some tubing and a piggyback ECU, you can get just the compressor for around $1500. It isn't just a belt-driven turbine, they have a proprietary gear/roller inside that housing that turns a few thousand RPMs into 10K+ rpm.

Also, keep in mind that this is not a positive displacement like the Blitz.

I'm also assuming that you don't need an inter cooler either if you are running low psi?

When people have posted in the past on Yw of their boosted cars throwing CEL' with a piggyback, what was the main issue's that were the reason for their problems? Or is it that the stock ECU just cannot deal with any level of boost? (hard to believe since the blitz s/c seems to work fine)
