Radiator or waterpump?

Started overheating.Popped hood small amount water below radiator on plastic tray.

I looked around best I could and dont see anything dripping.

Should I just go ahead and replace waterpump as its probaly on its way out anyway?

This could take one thing out of the equasion.

A radiator leak (I think would be obvious) would have staining around the leaking area.
Water pumps usually have a small puddle (about quarter size).
I would park the car and check for wet area. dry and a put a piece of paper toweling under water pump. Check it a hour later.

Sometimes overheating will push coolant out of the over flow tank. I'd start with a pressure test though.

I will make appointment.Thanks.

It must of pushed coolant out of overflow because it was about 1 cup of water roughly beneath radiator.

The light jsut flashed and luckily I was real close to home and coasted and light went off.

The cooling fan is working for sure.

I had to top up rad twice in roughly 12 months before this.

I should check WP for play on pulley?
