security upgrade?

I am living in Canada. I noticed that there is a Security Upgrade option for 2006/2007 yaris. The part cost $27 and they want $50 for installation. I want to do this myself and save some $$. Does anyone know how to do it?

thanks

The security upgrade only works with dealer installed remote door locks.
It does not work with factory installed remote keyless entry.

I found a wire, not plug in to anything just where the central locking button is located. The one below the handbrake. It is just tape with the central locking wire. Does anyone know what it is for? At first, I thought it is for the security upgrade.

Sounds like a Blinking LED & some stickers if you ask me.

Buy a real alarm & have it professionally installed, and I don't mean by the Dealership.

Yes, that is a god idea. Don't know how it is in Canada, but my insurance gives discounts depending on what the alarm actually does.
