Liftback Spoiler Installation
Has anyone installed a spoiler on their liftback? Mine is due in Tuesday and I'm going to attempt the install with a friend. I downloaded the pdf file, which is all pictures, no text, just wondering if anyone had any tips on their own experience doing the job.

I will be installing mine my self. I don"t know if this helps but, I have installed body part (spoilers, side skirts and frount lips) on my WRX. The instructions only have pics. Just take your time and get it perfect. Please let us know how it went and give tips.

Spoiler, Liftback - Blazing Blue - 2007 Toyota Yaris 08150-52870-J1
but it's Blazing Blue, this is the only pic I could find of it. I'll possibly be doing it tonight, it's supposed to come in ups today. But after I do a speaker and ipod install in my dad's car tonight. |

apparently the RS spoiler has 6 mounting holes, whereas the rally spoiler uses only 2 mounting points.
where did you find the install pdf? |

Ok, it's done, didn't take too long, just had to make a trip to Lowes for a bigger drill bit and a round file.
here's pics of some of the install there's 4 holes, only 2 you screw into though, the other 2 are placeholders I guess, just plastic that pops into the 2 middle smaller holes. the directions said to remove the panel in the rear door, it wasn't really necessary, I guess to clean up any shavings that may have fallen to the bottom of the door, but I didn't find any. the pdf file in one of the DIY sections is a different one than I got with my spoiler. I'll try to scan and turn mine into a pdf if I can get a full version of adobe. |

Maybe a dumb question, but did it come pre-painted?

yes, you can order in several different colors, I got it here:
http://www.toyotapartsstore.com/ they shipped it pretty quickly, and have good prices. Not too much more than the employee prices I got on the other accessories I ordered from my local Toyota dealer. The spoiler was twice as much from the dealer so I ordered it online. |

I saw the pic's of your car and it's look like mine, with color is your car ? is the same code that mine? I'm asking because I have a trip to USA and I could buy my spoiler there , and save a lot of bucks...... I dont know if the paint changes from country to country... thanks a lot.. p.d. you can see pic's of my car in the member rides section... my id is cburac cheers |

You have to drill 4 holes, it comes with a template to tape on. 3 holes lined up perfectly, but the far left was off by about 1/4", luckily I was able to drill the bracket hole enough to make it work.
My color is Blazing Blue Pearl (color code 8TO), different than your Blue Mica Metallic. Here's the 2007 Toyota color code chart for the U.S. http://www.toddhata.com/pics/Toyota_...olor_Chart.xls |
