Toyota Oil Specs Chart
This is probably old news here, by now. I haven't been monitoring the forum. But I figured I'd post this just in case. If this is correct, 0w20 is now retroactively spec'd all the way back to the Echo. And 5w20 even back to 1995 for many Toyotas. I will note that this link is to clublexus.com and not to toyota.com. And as I just discovered it, I haven't had a chance to check it out.

1% - 2% on fuel economy. Plus, the current crop of 0w20s like M1 and Toyota's Genuine 0w20 appear to be excellent oils, judging from the UOA's I've seen.
New Prius owners, and others with cars which now *require* 0w20, get the benefit of (officially recommended) 10,000 mile oil change intervals. -Steve |

in the shop, we only use the 0w20 on the required applications. The price seems to drive most others off. It isn't cheap, the genuine "Toyota" 0w20 is actually ENEOS brand (made by Nippon Oil), and retails for $6.66 per Toyota. People with a choice of $3 per quart or $7 per quart tend to pick $3

Anybody have an idea where to get Amsoil 0W-30 for a little cheaper that $10? I'd like to try it, but if I can't find any cheaper than that, I'll be sticking with Royal Purple 5W-20 for less than $8...
