No Drill roof rack available for Yaris 3 door?
Is a roof rack made for the 2009 Yaris 3 door that requires no drilling?

yeah, it was discussed a lot pre-hack... but, what the heck - one more time :) thule makes two options. an 'aero' kit that essentially can just hold bikes and snowboards(the crossbars will only be a foot apart) and a 'traditional' kit that uses a stretch kit(kind of the same as the 'aero' kit, but has a couple extensions that go further back on the roof to allow more options - ie. cargo box, kayak/canoe, etc.). i'm going to probably get the aero-version myself because all i want to carry is bikes anyway and less stuff to touch my precious roof :) if you're just wanting to carry bikes/snowboards you can also just get a hitch-mount kit from either yakima, thule, or a number of others. it'll probably cost less total too!

my friend put some yakima racks on his civic coupe. you have to get the annoying coupe tension bar (stretch kit like toad mentioned). Its a pain to setup but onec your done its awesome! Plus they make kits for just about any car. I have a thule kit on my volvo but its 4 door so its a lot easier.

Wondering if anyone went ahead and found a suitable roof rack for the Yaris? I'm looking for one just for small amounts of luggage

or you could do a google search for Toyota dealers in England, and cut out the middle man. As for fitting all instructions are supplied with the kit. You Do realise this is a removeable kit , ie you put it on and remove it yourself when not needed. |
