How do I fix the plastic under my front bumper?
I'm not sure how it got broken, but the plastic under my front bumper is hanging. I've temporarily zip tied it to the front bumper. There's also a hole in (what I believe is called) the front right wheel well.
Could anyone tell me how I can fix the wheel well, and the plastic under my front bumper? Is this an expensive fix? Images (very large): http://i.imgur.com/cAtCs9v.jpg http://i.imgur.com/eA8uTm3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yEPYRQh.jpg |

argghh
One of the more irritating things about the Yaris. I just have patching my son's with cable ties also. He messed his up but good, but he is also cheap.
See how it goes with the cable ties, your does not look so bad. |

mine also
Mine has been hanging with cable ties also for the last 1.5 years. It's mainly a splash guard for when it rains It really does not matter too much unless you plan on entering a show contest then the judges might have an issue with your cable ties holding up stuff. LOL The hole in the wheel well might need to be patch up mainly to keep water and road grime/mud from entering the engine area especially the serpentine belt/pulleys.

unless you are a total clean freak, the engine bay will get awful dirty awfully fast. The thing most of that plastic does is keep out dirt and other crud.

UPDATE: Took her to the dealership, and the cost is $391+tax (labour included). Will think it over.

My engine isnt getting that dirty, but I'm driving very low, so most things cant really get in the engine bay (+ I keep the engine bay quite clean).
And I never had any problems without it... :D There's a plus side about it: because the plastic isn't holding the front bumper I now have a bit of movement in it, so when hitting curbs or speedbumps (or whatever) the bumper bends with it :)

omg
omg $391. why not just patch it up with a piece of hard plastic and put a few ty-wraps to hold it on there. Or if you know the part numbers just find it onine through ebay.

Got a solder gun?
There is plastic welding. Weller makes a heat tip for plastic. Fill material is a handful of plastic straws, available at your local Mickey D's. You may need some reinforcement. Since it' s under the car it doesn't have to be pretty. I have used JB weld with success. You can try & source a used piece of similar material and use that as fill or for bridging. Norton |

You could put a patch over the wheel well hole, lock tight and others make epoxy for plastic, I've used lock tight brand a few times with susses.
