Thinking about buying used...
Here is what i'm looking at.
http://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/cto/4216464341.html The owner says it doesn't have any problems, and he'll go down to at least $6000. I live about three hours away, so I'm not going to look at it until I'm certain this is what I want. Does this seem like a good deal to you guys? I'm in highschool, and this will be coming out of pocket. I will be using literally all of my savings on this. The only other cars I'm looking at now are civics and accents, as they are the only cars with similar mpg...not quite as good though |

$6000 for an 07 MT Yaris with 86000 doesn't sound horrible, but it is not necessarily a steal either. The main thing to check is the tranny. Check the clutch and make sure that it shifts well, as abused ones will tend to have syncro issues.
If you are emptying your funds, you don't want to run into issues that will cost you even more.

It is not a bad deal by any means, based on what I have seen used ones go for around here as well. If you can break the $6K mark, I think you are doing pretty well.

I can't see the specs, but I'd rather consider 9k6$ for my '09 HB with 32000km a ripoff, keeping in mind that it has the smallest engine, no foglights, no VSC/TRC, had no speakers in the rear doors and just a manual AC without a PTC heater ;)

I sold my 09 for $8200; and it had 75k miles.
If there's no rust or accident history, it's probably good. |
