Yokohama Tires

I just replaced the original tires on my 2010 Yaris. I replaced the factory tires with a set of Yokohama AVID Touring S 185/60R15. What I first noticed is that the car is quieter. The ride quality also improved a bit.

The Yokohama AVID Touring S seems to be a solid mid range priced tire. I also have a set of 225/60R16 on my Ford Ranger.

This tire was chosen because of good customer reviews on the Tire Rack. And now that I have a set on my Yaris and my Ranger, I can state with confidence it is a good tire. I will put a set on my 2012 Civic next year.

My 10 cents worth

I did strongly considered the Yokohama AVID Touring S, however I went with the General RT43. It's a smooth and handles well and the noise level is ok. I'm thinking about getting an alignment after the new tires for longer life.

Did you get an alignment/alignment check?

I did not get an alignment, the original tires were wearing very evenly. They were replaced because they were developing small cracks in the sidewall. They were almost 5 years old but they only had 33,000 miles.

I probably would not have replaced them for a while except my wife is planning a 600 mile trip next month.

4-5 years is about the life span of a tire for a car that sit outside under the sun.

The Yokohama s.drive I bought are from 2012. Makes them 2 years old tires bought brand new. Kinda pissed because of that since I don't drive much nowadays.

always do an alignment check with new tires and do one as needed , most tire shops will do a check at no cost. People spend good money on new tires and yet dont get alignment honestly dont understand it.

just my 2 cents on this

The Avids are very good tires. The tire wholesaler I work for supplies several Toyota dealerships with these as replacement tires for what comes factory on Toyotas.
