I'm still waiting for a nice sunny day for photos. I'll be adding them to the Official Copper Orange Mica thread when I do take them!

hey everyone, im new as well... i bought my yaris back in april, after looking for a used car. i needed something cheap but fun and all the used cars just sucked! it was actually cheaper for me to buy a new yaris than a used about anything else. im trying to finish college, hoping to go to dental school but its taking a long time.

my previous car was a '91 240s hatch that i had since i got out of high school (5 years or so). it was modded almost as soon as i bought it and went through many stages. i was considered pretty hardcore when it came to a street car, it had little to no emenities and was loud, hard, and generally uncomfortable. it was autocrossed heavily (about 12-15 events a year) for about 3 years, then i got into track events. i ran about 5 events a year the last two years and even instructed! :) i passed elise's, G35's, M3's, Subaru's, race prepped Camaro's, and much more! i enjoyed that quite a bit, lol!

so i grew out of that stage and decided to get to work and finish school. i had done two years and quit to race and party, and now i've been back in for a year or so. i love my little yaris though, its really a blast to drive! i cant wait to give it a shot on a circuit! im gonna do some light mods to up the fun factor but keep it pretty civil. i'm trying to decided what thing are necessary for me and go from there.

anyways, nice to meet everyone and hope people want to talk track with me! :)

-Ken

A big hello to all Yaris owners and future owners

Hello all to all of you yaris owners and future yaris owners! My name is Adam and I work at a Toyota dealership in Temple Texas. If any of you have any questions please ask me and I will try to find you some answers and get back to you as fast as I can. If anyone is ever in my area please stop in and we can talk for a bit. I'm not new to the Toyota scene and all I have owned is Toyota's. I cant picture myself investing in a better automobile. Its all I will drive to my days end. Some call it just a car but I consider it a passion of driving!! Thanks to all and see you around.

Welcome Adam! Any comment on whether extended warranty is worth the money? The subject is being discussed on another thread (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2623). I will be delighted to read about your insight.

Im gonna try to give a non biased opinion on this for you swng, I think the service contracts that are offered is a must! A perfect example is when my power window motor went out in my 2002 corolla s (which Ive sold) and it was going to cost me about 195 for the motor (with discount) and two hours of labor @ 80 dollars per hour. the math says it would of been 355 dollars all together. Granted thats only a third of the cost for the warranty but i think it was worth it all the way... i try to get a warranty with all my cars or buy a certified toyotas. the cost is whatever you can haggle for it but let me know ahead of time and ill try to get you the real cost. To me its worth every penny for the warranty now because I never know if a situation will come up when I dont have the cash on hand probally cause I bought some parts to upgrade!).. hit me up if you got any questions..

Yeah they had other colors for my sedan, but silver really spoke to me. Also that it was the cheapest one on the lot. =D Oh and she has a manual transmission.

Cool Greetings and salutations!!!

I bought my very first new car last Monday...and it is a 2007 Silver Yaris!!! My very first manual transmission...that little 1.5L engine has some get-up-and-go to it! I am extremely happy with my car and I am looking forward to many hours combined on the forum and on my car to make it an awesome little Yaris!

Hi all. I'm a proud new owner of a Yaris. My baby is Bayou Blue, 5-speed, Liftback, Power Pkg, Keyless Entry, and does not have abs (!).... Before my last car (Nightmare) - VW GOLF 2002, I had a Honda CRX and before that a Celica.... only the VW had ABS so I'm hoping my old driving habits will kick in... anyone else not have ABS and find it's "ok"?

Also... did you guys have a period when the steering seemed to have a mind of its own when driving highways and hitting bumps here and there? I drove a ways yesterday and felt like I was battling to keep within the lines... I love it though and the color is sooooo cool. How can anyone compare the looks of the Yaris to the drab and generic looking FIT? The CRX was cooler than the FIT!

Anyway.... Once I break my baby in I hope to see what it really does for pickup speeds... I can handle slower driving since I've been a speed demon my whole life and don't want to trash this car!

Who has dealer car alarms, after market ones or none?
-Tracey
