Trying to find a H/O alt

I'm trying to find a H/O alt. I found this http://www.powerbastards.com/proddet...=Fitzall%2D220 but its a Universal alt. Can anyone tell me if it would work w/o serious modifications? Or, can anyone outright tell me where I can get a H/O alt that will fit? Thanks for any help.

my HO alt is currently in post production over at DC Power Alts. the stator is being built or whatever.

I've heard awesome things about and from DC Power Alts.

There was a huge thread at CA.com bashing HO alts and how they dont work as advertised and DC Power showed up and posted videos and pics and all kinds of evidence that theirs alts really putout.

Mine is a 250amp 140 idle and costed $469.

now...they say it'll work perfectly no flaws etc etc etc and it comes with a 2:1 alt pulley so as to bump the idle amperage. Whether it'll work smooth as butter like they say I have yet to find out.

Guess im the guinea pig.

I did a search on google about a month ago and found a similar universal alt that was rated 100amps, and another I think that was 160amps. They were even cheaper, I wanna say $150 & $200. Who knows how much modding (if any) would be needed... I'd call them up, see if you can send it back if it doesn't fit without being knock for a re-stocking fee if it requires too much modding.

The potential gotcha with swapping it is that the the Yaris one has some electronics built in. The regulator is internal (although so is the one on the link you posted) and there is a pulsed output signal that is fed to the AC amplifier and ECM that tells both of those ECUs if the car is being charged by the alternator.

architect, is your H/O alt a direct match for the stock yaris or is a universal? Or did you give them your stock for them to beef up?

My next question, i need to find an amp that our cars can push (while not damaging anything). Ive posted a topic similar to my question. Anyway, I have two 900 rms 10 i need to push. Ive been told that audiobahn wont to rate numbers. It will be more like 600 rms per speaker. Can either one of you recommend an amp that can be safely pushed by our alts? I wont be slammin it constantly. Only to show out every now and then.

I'm thinking maybe a Power Acoustic A1800DB Class D 1800W. Its rated at 1,400 rms @ 1 ohm. What do yall think?

DC Power says that the alt will be an OEM Direct replacement fit.

As for an amp whatever one you choose take off and expect at least 20% less than the rated wattage because the best efficiency youll find is 80% from a D-class.

I've used HIFONICS Brutus series "Super" D-Class religiously for a long time and they always done their job well.

I seriously considering an AP 15001.D I bet our cars could push it. Though its supposed to do rated, I dont think the stock eletrical could push to its full capabilities. I'm thinking something in the ball park of 600 or so rms for two. maybe idk

If you want one, then buy it... and 1/0awg cable (if you don't already have it), plus more 1/0awg cable to upgrade your alt charging wire, and your battery to chasis ground wire.

Once you do all that install work, if there's still too much of an amp draw, then you can wire up to 4ohm (I assume you run 1ohm) and call things good. 4ohm will still give you decent wattage.
