Thanks for the info. i am new to lowering cars. I am use to lowering trucks on the ground and I know there is not any clearance issues with those. This is my first time lowering a car that I own.

Like I said... I am running a 1.7 drop with 205's offset 42. No problems at all. I put a full tank in and had my girl in the car taking corners as hard as a I can. No rubbing...

Keep in mind that just focusing on the tire size is missing the point. The width of the rim and the offset is just as important. Just because someone is running 205's without problems - it doesn't mean it will work for you. If someone using 205's are running a narrower rim with a greater offset, it is the complete combination that's making it work, not just the tire width.

It is sounding like there is a general consensus that 205/40/17 with a +40mm offset is working just fine. Even people with a +42mm offset are ok.
