Can I rotate the tires myself or do I have to go to the dealer because

You can do it yourself. Our simple TMP system is only triggered when tire(s) is low, you're running on a temporary and flat is at the shop being repaired, etc...

My Canadian 08 sedan has no tpm system

I thought all 08's and up were supposed to have this feature.

They aren't trying to scare you, just informing you. They basically said you can do it without paying the dealor 50+ bucks for 1 hr's work, 15 minutes if you have appropriate jacks.

Anything sold after July of 2007 in Canada should have some sort of TPMS. It may be an indirect system and use the wheel speed sensor. You can have regular valve stems and still have TPMS.
