0/1 guage through firewall?
For smaller wire I know about the grommet behind the battery. How about larger wire ?

It'll still fit through the same grommet behind the battery. There's a lot of room there.

With the Yaris, just drill another damn hole. LOL. I hate wiring Yarii.

I would drill, I just don't want to hit anything. I can't believe there isn't an unused plug on the fire wall.

I got the plug that connects to my fog light switch through the grommet behind the battery
easily so a 0/1 gauge wire will be no problem. Why a 0/1 gauge wire though? How much power are you planning on running through it? Just curious.

I don't think I saw this grommet you people talk of... do you have to yank the battery to see it, or gain access?
I've got some 2/0awg that i'd like to run, but I couldn't find a place that it'd fit... so i'm running some 4awg that I had laying around. |

I pulled the winshield wiper assembly off because I didn't want to remove my STB to
get the battery out and it was much easier to access that way.

Well that certainly explains a lot of things. Thanks!

It can be done
The trick to putting o/1 through the fire wall is to remove half the car first.
1) remove wipers 2) remove wiper trim 3) remove wiper motor assembly 4)remove radio trim 5) remove guage bezel 6) remove guage cluster 7) remove a pillars 8) remove dash now you can start with the wire, solder a ring terminal on to the wire. Pull the wire from the interior to the engine bay. done. 4+ hrs |

Just to add a bit of install info... There is another unused rubber grommet on the passanger side, about 4 inches below the roof of the engine bay and about 6-8 inches from the side. It comes below the dash, which can be easily accessed by pulling the carpet back a little ways and looking up. Will give pics if asked.

^ i used this for my fogs as well, it should be a few inches farther than the engine ECU to the passenger side, looking from in front of the car, directly left of the ECU.

Thats good, I watch this post for days and nothing, and then the day after I re-run the power wire I see that pics are wanted oh well, i'll post a few pics in a day or two, cause i'm a lazy pos And a 4 guage fits through the grommet as well, looks like enough room to squeez a 0 with a little fuss but not impossible.
