2009 - Radio/Aux jack sound issue
I just purchased my 2009 Yaris and am trying to lisenten to my standard ipod through the aux jack. I have the connection setup like this: wire comes from where headphones would go then other end is plugged into aux jack. The volume however is low compared to if I was just listening to the radio/cd player. Do I have this hooked up the right way. The volume is turned up all the may on the ipod too. The sound just is not as good through the aux jack.
Any help in inproving the sound would be appreciated |

It is not a defect, I have the same problem. Most people told me to change my aux wire, I did and still the same. The sound when I am playing from cd is twice as loud. If you figure anything out let me know.

Buddy
Maybe I misunderstood but make sure when U say U have the volume up that the volume is turned up on the song/album as it is playing on the phone display itself and not just in settings or ringer buttons etc... OtherWise itmwill never get louder!

In any event the aux jack is not sensitive enough for most mp3 players. Personally, I have a "Sandisk Sansa Clip" MP# player and when I tried it with the aux jack, the playback volume was low even when the player and the Yaris head were both turned up to max. |

I used a battery powered mp3 headphone amplifier that I picked up at Radio Shack and hacked to power by the car and hook into the aux jack between it an the radio. This worked great. I'm sure there are lots of similar products out there. (I don't use it anymore since I've changed up to bluetooth audio and an android tablet as my music source.)

Yes, that is an excellent solution.
In fact, I have a battery powered headphone/pre-amp (assembled from a "Ramsey" kit) that I originally tried with the MP3 player I do not now use it however as I now have all my favorate MP3s burned on a CD |
