Corolla Hatchback Nightshade

I'm so fickle .... I just don't know WTF to buy

Test drove one of these and was really impressed with how it drives and the nightshade edition looks great with the black wheels.

For 2021, it has all the safety tech and Android Auto standard and while nobody is a fan of the CVT transmission, it performs just fine to me with 41 MPG!

Funny 'cause my wife wants me to lease a new Mercedes which is exactly twice the price, yet I prefer the looks of this Corolla better!

Hold off for the GR Corolla? lol.

If you don't mind the sedan, you can try to get one of the 120 manual Corolla Apex editions.

I suspect the GR will be manual only ... I'm too lazy to shift a daily driver.

Not a sedan guy.

Unlike most new Toyota models, the Corolla hatchback is a very decent looking car that drives exceptionally well.

It is such a great looking car. You couldn't pay me to own a car with a CVT, though. lol.

I’m not a fan of the blacked out door handles. The wheels are nice though! I would take this over a CH-R.

Leasing a Merc seems like the most anti-Yaris thing to do. Haha! j/k

Fair enough. Manuals could get tiring in traffic (I did it for years, lol). Personally, I would rather just get the XSE hatch, and just change out the wheels, etc. Or if you don't care for the extra features of the XSE, what about the "2021 Special Edition?" Has some black painted parts in the right places (black handles just looks odd to me, and makes me think the car is actually a super base model).

Yea, I saw the 2021 Special Edition red car in the news ... I just prefer the looks of the white Nightshade edition.

I'd have to see the red car in person which probably won't happen since they're only making 1500 of them.

I think that Nightshade edition looks great, black door handles and all.

Not exactly what I prefer but it's an overall decent car to have.

Still not a fan of the Corolla hatch look/design, shape & overall stance compared to the SE/XSE version sedan. Also not a fan of any of the various hatch/sedan "special editions" that I have seen thus far. Bit too much in sporty tween cosmetics, without any payoff.

Of course, I am likely not the targeted demographic. Plus, my interest in cars has really dwindled now that I hardly ever drive & work from home full-time. At my current rate, my 2020 Corolla sedan won't even have 25K miles on it after 10 years...

I know this feeling. I've been working remotely from my home office for a few different companies since 2011. I'm on a under 3,100 miles per year plan with my insurance company. My interest hasn't dwindled, though. I still mod my lil Yaris and find reasons to take it out for spins. In respect to this Nightshade edition 'rolla, cosmetic or not, I think it looks sporty and aggressive. Just the way I like 'em. At 41 years old, I'm no spring chicken, either. Doubt I would fall into the demo you referred to. I actually like Toyota trying to offer some of the 'edgier' stuff in a US market that is changing so much. I, for one, would like to see more of it.

Meanwhile, I've driven the Yaris 3500 miles just this month back and forth to Los Angeles 5 times doing Estate business and going thru a large house and a lifetime of possessions of my recently deceased Aunt.

Corolla Hatchback Nightshade is really great car. My friend has this car and I really fell in love with this model. My friend is now going to insure this car for a month. I'm not sure that it's possible to do this, but my friend said that he found some companies that provide car insurance for a month. He even found the average car insurance cost per month. He wants to do this to compare different insurance companies. I think this is nonsense because it is much easier to find one reliable insurance company and not fool your head.
