The Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice and it's European counter parts are Daewoos and they're nice. I love their early Matiz models. Give my eye teeth to get one of those into the US. The unfortunate Aztek has one redeeming feature and it's the rear hatch design with the below spoiler window. Toyota Prius copied that annoying feature so it's good for that. The Echo is a great car! The Canadian hatchback ones were identical to the super popular European Yaris. Sebring convertibles are a great value especially if you rent one. I think the person who wrote the Article was drunk. These kinds of generalizations are meaningless to those unique individuals that love each and every different car model ever made. There are lot's of devoted Mini drivers who think a Yaris is stupid. I love my Yaris more than a Mini, just like Jag lovers love Jags more than Bimmers.

I can attest to the ECHO. I agreed, I thought it look hideous. Until I looked at the 03 model. I thought it looked better. Yes it still looks goofy. I know its a basement bargain econo car but seriously! Handles like Shit. Its like they put paper shocks. Its disconnected, floaty, isolated like most Toyota's.

Now that I'm more of a car fan than I was then I would love to have another car. Don't get me wrong it does its job and I'm grateful cause I'm very poor. Gets good mileage, cheap to run and own. And very reliable but that's where it ends. Like pretty much all Toyota's its a boring appliance. And yes again I know its not a sports car but still I feel the cheapness of the suspension can kill me in a since it floats and easily looses traction, I feel to detached from the road. The lightness has its advantages, mileage and peppyness.

Rant over.

Too bad we didn't get the echo hatch in the US! I bet it would drop off the list!

The Echo is a fine looking car to those who have the eyes to see. Because it doesn't fit the norm it is shunned. I feel sorry for all those who think inside the box.

The Echo is an awesome little car! Having owned a 2001 Echo is why my family now drive three Yaris sedans. (Couldn't get a new Echo.)

Thats nuts..... The main reason I bought my Yaris is my wife had a 04 Echo RS and I loved to bomb around in it especially in the winter.

The whole list is garbage except maybe the Catera, Daewoo and Sebring. Haven't personally owned any of them but I know some people who have and they weren't too happy with the quality of the cars.

Most of the cars on the list weren't styled to author's liking so he wrote bad about them. His opinion, no fact behind any of it.

The best thing about their attitude is that are driving a real POS and will never know how good the ECHO is.

the only thing that put the echo in that list is that they didn't sell it as much as they intended, other from that, the car is very realiable ;)

If the Echo had come in a hatch back version it would have been a lot more popular. I think the styling was clean and cute especially without the cladding.

I wish they did not stop making Echo... I have 2001 with 152,000 miles and 2003 with 110,000 miles, no problems

Yes youre right. Unfortunately they went the wrong direction making it bigger and heavier. Im thinking the quality is down also from the ECHOs high standards.

Not every change they made from the Echo to the Yaris Sedan was an improvement, for sure. But if quality's gone down, I haven't seen any evidence of it.

I remember seeing my first Pontiac Aztek. I went home dumbfounded and told my wife I'd just seen the ugliest car ever made!
