2nd look at the Sprint Booster
I have looked into this thing before. does anyone use it?
http://www.sprintboosterusa.com/ I was looking at it again, and reading the mixed reviews/opinions of many other people on many other vehicle forums and have come to the conclusion; some people see it as a waste of money because it really does not do anything but modify the acceleration curve and all you need to do is press the pedal faster. people that have paid $300 for it say they love it and it's the best thing ever. the reason I am interested is the valet mode and the pedal lock out security feature. I really like that idea of locking out the pedal electronics so I can warm up my car legally in the mornings and leave it running without worries. when I take it to the dealer, I can set the valet to 35%! HA! |

I'm also interested to hear about people's experiences with the Yaris in particular. There are two issues with the the electronic throttle. One is that the response curve isn't to everybody's liking. I actually think it's too sensitive.
The other issue is a long delay between when you press or release the pedal, and when the car actually responds. Throttle controllers also claim to reduce/eliminate that delay, and that's the reason I'm interested in a throttle controller. I still have a lot more trouble driving my manual Yaris than I did with previous cars with cable-driven throttles. |
