PRM Jetstream Prototype CAI

I have been working with Gerry Sica of PRMracing, patent holder of the Jetstream CAI. Fabrication of the prototype has just been completed and we will be installing tomorrow.

Google search this kit guys. You won't find a single negative about this design (although on the drive to PRMs shop I will be chanting 'no CEL, no CEL, please please please no CEL).

DYNO DYNO DYNO. Probably minimal gains but the sound is probably great. Whose ready for an introductory GB.

If all goes well with the initial install, a dyno run will be happening in a couple of weeks.

PRM recently completed development of this system for the Honda Fit. The Fit was dyno'd a week ago - made 5 hp & 5 ftlbs of torque to the wheels.

What the Yaris gets, we shall see soon.

isn't that a short ram and not a CAI? Looks very nice.

The Fit one would give more gain; they have more to start with.

My official prediction is that it will NOT be under $100.

Yes, this will fit the sedan.

You're a funny guy marcus. That may buy the filter element in it. Pricing will be more in-line with comparable intakes from the likes of Fujita, AEM, Injen. More than Weapon R, less than K&N.

Installed

After 90 kms (55 miles) driving, first impressions/observations:

Note: vehicle is a 2006 LB with automatic transmission
  1. No CEL
  2. Looks great
  3. Excellent fitment
  4. Pipe is cold to the touch at the throttle body
  5. At my normal highway cruising speed, I'm turning 100-125 rpm lower??
  6. Butt Dyno says:
    1. More torque off the line
    2. Somewhere between 4,500 and 5,000 rpm, the engine feels increased power gains

Unfortunately we've been dealing with heavy rains all day, and driving tests were not too vigourous. Also, while doing some WOT, I encountered a cop while doing 40km over the limit. Not pulled over, but spooked me out of further spirited driving.
