They say they are no good

I’m talking about fram oil filters. People cut them open and see that the end caps are made out of cardboard.



They think this is bad. But I have use them on my wife 2005 Camry and has 195,000 miles on it. Not every time but maybe a third of the time. I am the only one who is ever change the oil on it and I’ve never used Toyota oil filters. Usually I use Purolator PL14477 but sometimes they don’t have them. So I use the fram ones.

It is true they cost more. Amazon wants $10 for one now! They used to be $3.83!

frams can and do fail...i wont run em any more after having one fail on a v8...gimmy anything but a fram

of course i also will NOT buy OEM branded filters either IE toyota since toyota doesnt make em and your paying just to have theyre name printed on someone elses can

Also pretty hard to argue with the thousands of negative opinions from LICENSED mechanics on them aswell as the countless teardown videos on Youtube.
