Nice pics, especially the one's with the Calgary skyline in the background. The car looks great in "Blazin' Blue". You might want to consider the lowering springs for your baby. They improve the looks, handling, but are not so radical as to cause ground clearance problems. There is a pic of my (Copper-Orange) car from the side earlier in this thread, so you can see the difference.
BTW ......... I'm surprised you didn't get RED ............... "GO Flames GO!!!!!" |

Your car looks great. I'm jealous.
I wish I could've gotten the 15" alloys on my car. Unfortunately, my area doesn't offer them as part of any package. Anybody know what the dealer would charge for the 15" alloys by themselves? I'm going to see if my dealer will do a swap for my steelies plus a little dough.

2010 Yaris 3 door hatchback
Yeah, the lowering springs, shocks and sway bar improve handling 110% and drop front and rear 1.5" with no problems.

Goose, here are some prices for you from the Canadian Toyota "Accessory Parts List". All prices are Canadian dollars.
14" Alloy Wheels - $740 15" Alloy Wheels - $740 (3 designs offered) 16" Alloy Wheels - $940 Carbon Fibre Dash Kit - $310 Leather Seats - $1528 Lowering Springs - $350 ($514 installed) Performance Exhaust - $680 ($704 installed) Car Tent??????? - $220 You might want to consider keeping your "Steelies" for some snows. I think HP winter tires are a real asset here in Ontario, probably be the same for you. ****** Unless perhaps you live and only drive in the city. |

I totally want the car tent. If you haven't seen it, it's a tent that connects the hatch of the Yaris to a 2-3 person tent. Pretty cool.

Thanks for the accessory information, ricko. You're right about keeping the steel wheels for snow tires. The winters can get pretty mean where I am (non-existent rural snow removal); a light car like the Yaris would benefit from a dedicated winter setup. It's amazing how much dedicated snow tires can improve traction over so-called "all season" tires.

Goose is right. OEM is often the safest, but not necessarily the high performance choice. IF you know how and where to buy aftermarket wheels and accessories, there is a world of better choices out there. IF.......

Don't forget that many of the OEM alloys are made by the same companies that make the aftermarket wheels (e.g. Enkei, Borbet, BBS, etc.).
