Camshaft Position Sensor
Hi
I'm a new owner of an old Yaris. I inherited a 2005 1litre Yaris. I'm not sure if it makes much difference, but I'm from the UK. The car is right hand drive. The engine management light is on. The car idles quite roughly and will accelerate quite slowly and sometimes loses power, especially in first gear, the car is manual. I had the garage take a look and they diagnosed code p1340 igniter circuit 8 fault. Which they say is the camshaft position sensor. They've quoted £160 for the part and £40 for the sensor. I'm pretty competent with DIY, but for the life of me I can't figure out where the sensor is. Are there any pictures or videos where I can see the location of this. Do I need to Jack the car up to access it. I've been reading that its on the battery side but still can't see it. I was planning on picking the part up myself which is £79 for an FAE brand part. Any help will be much appreciated. Many thanks. |
