In commercial, heavy industry vehicles we have a battery cut-off that can be actuated from the interior. In essences you kill the juice which leaves no other alternative then towing for the bad guy. I would almost bet there is something out there for passenger vehicle application that is neat and proffesional.

that is a great idea, but where are we to put that in the yaris? that seems like a lot of routing.

In my old car, a 97 Camaro, I wired in a relay in between the starter and the ignition and tied it into the passenger window up button on the driver side door panel(as the switch). So, even if the thief gets past my alarm, the car absolutely will not start unless you hold the passenger window up button down while turning the key. The relay cost's about $5-10 bucks and chances are the thief will never find this switch.

Hey, thanks. I don't think it would work with remote start. My car was a 6 speed manual tranny so that was not an issue for me.

I was going to do the same thing on my new Yaris, but since its manual locks and windows, I would have to install my own switch which defeats the purpose as it would stand out.

Airbags, Yaris Crash test video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMLN_Cq11l4

Lol you'll be owned without the airbag, btw this was at like 40 mph.

im not going to argue with government safety standards, but seatbelts are good enough for me...

dont replace you steering wheel with a quick release one cause you definitely need the airbags.

just buy autolock. that is what i use on my car right now and it is so visible thieves wont even try to steal your car.
