HID kit side-effect??

I just installed a plug-n-play H4 HID kit with Halogen hi-beams, and everything seems to be correct about it...BUT...I now have an odd problem with my dealer-installed cruise control. The cruise control shuts-off after only a few minutes, and does so at a variety of speeds. It has always held its speed indefinitely.
Since I've made no other mods in the engine bay or relating to wiring/stereo, etc., and the problem developed immediately after the install, I'm figuring they are related, but want to get some input as to the reason before I ditch the HID.

I mounted the ballasts using the brackets in the kit, and located them on the inboard side of the strut towers, as there is an unused threaded bolt hole at that location on both towers. I know that many others mount the ballast on top of the fuse box on the drivers side, but mine is about 3 inches behind that. The passenger side ballast is located just-above the wiring bundle that runs from the ECU to the front of the vehicle along the strut tower. There is at least 8 inches between the ECU and the ballast.

I did not have to cut/splice ANY wiring, and everything plugged together easily using water-tight connectors.

Is this related to the ballasts, a freak coincidence, or did I damage/loosen some other connection while I was fiddling around under the hood?

Has anyone else experience a similar problem with/without the HID's?

I havent experienced this with any of my HID kits that ive installed on my cars but one thing you could do is unplug the HID's and go to the delearship and have them check it out. I have a feeling its a freak coincidence but like i said before im not sure

I don't see how that could be related, I don't think those two systems even share fuses or relays.

Kinda what I figured, but thought there could be some kind of RF interference. Ran today with the lights off, and same problem. Gonna pull the HID kit and run to the dealer. No biggee.
