Newbie here, just got a 2010 Yaris hatch!

Hi Everyone,
My name is Marc, I would like to say hello, since I just joined. I just bought a new-to-me 2010 Yaris hatch. Yay me!

I'm coming from a Ford Festiva. Recently the alternator went on it, and I decided that I didn't want to put a $140 part in a $300 car. I wanted something like the Festiva (small hatchback), but, you know....NEW!

My new Yaris is Meteorite Metallic, 5-speed, and has only 6000 miles!. The original owner traded it since he felt it was too small for him. It has the convenience pkg, all-weather pkg and floor mats. (original sticker in the owners manual: $14,578).

A friend of mine is a manager at a large dealership, and had it on his lot for $12,700, he sold it to me for what they owned it for: $10,700. It pays to know the manager!

Looking forward to it giving me many years of trouble-free motoring, as the Festiva did before it. The only thing I'm having trouble adjusting to is the electronic throttle, but I'm getting used to it. So far I really like it, and I'm certainly learning alot here @ YW.

Congrats

I have a 2010 Yaris just like yours. Love it. Great mileage and looks. Just installed Microimage foglights.

Have one problem. Gettiing oil leak from head on engine at 10000 miles.

Hope you have better luck.

We had a 2009 5 door METEORITE . Very good color . Sometimes it looked like a light green in certain light and angles . Like the background too . Very nice car and pic . Enjoy .

Well, thinking about it, but nothing right away, probably later this year.

First mod is getting that little device that I read about (forget the name of it), that makes the gas pedal more sensitive. Right now I can push it 1/2" it seems, and nothing happens. I've been driving a manual transmission for almost 30 years, and this car makes me feel like a beginner.

After that, this car is just begging for a rear spoiler, alloys and fog lamps. A bit more sound insulation would be nice (although it's a Lexus compared to my old Festiva) and probably the TRD rear sway bar too.

What do you mean that you're getting oil leaking from the HEAD on the engine at 10,000 miles ? Is yours new or used ? Does it refer to this ? http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31470 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVK_uBKotcU . Thanks .

Mine is new and I just discovered the leak while I was under car installing foglamps. Will be taking to the dealer next week. Thanks for the post to check. I did and appears to be the same issue.

Is the leak in the back passenger side of the engine as my pics showed. Please let me know what they discover. Our 2010 3 door and a friends 2010 both have the same leak. The 2008 sedan no longer leaks oil since the head gasket was replaced. Thanks and good luck.
