Inch up rubber
Has anyone put in 16" wheels on their car? What size tyres did you use? I find that the RS has 195/50R16 which is next to impossible to find any decent rubbers. 205/50R16 might be a bit too large on looks but every tyre is made in this size.

185/70/14 is just smaller than 205/50/16 (overall Diameter). You should be fine.

base yaris tire sizing is 175/70/14. yaris RS sizing is 185/65/15. 205/50/16 sizes up to slightly bigger than the base sizing, but smaller than than the RS sizing in diameter, so you should have no problems at all. especially at stock height, yaris' are pretty much 4x4 height :D

Actually, the standard for my car is 185/60R15 and no, it won't be at stock height. I've got a few hardware for the vehicle but missing the vehicle to put them on. I think I found my tyres anyway. Advan A048 in the standard 195/50R16.

my mistake, sorry. base tire sizing is 175/65/14, RS sizing is 185/60/15.
regardless, a 205/50/16 is less than 10mm diameter larger than 185/60/16, so it should fit if you have a reasonable offset wheel (+38 to + 50 should work fine) |

do you guys know if the stock tire sizing is programmed into the computer at 14" or 15" because there is a .75 inch difference in tire diameter between the two sizes. This can make a big difference in the speedometer reading.

Have to assume that Toyota calibrates each car for the tire they are going to put on it.

There's only a little over 3 % difference between the sizes. They may not even need to calibrate between them. |

I put a set of tires from my scion, but they are a little bit wide
might go with somethin thinner for the next set of tires 225/50/15 I think 205's should be perfect for this car they look pretty wide though, slow'd down the car a bit but made up for it on the turns |

That sounds sweet, 225's on the Yaris. If you go with the calculator I put up, 215's x 40 on 18's will work nicely, but I'm not sure if I want to sacrifice that much of the ride. Anyone running a set up something like this? I'm curious as to how good/bad the ride is. Mind you, my Talon was awful because the kid that had it before me cut the springs. I didn't have the time/money to change that. One of the many reasons I purchased the Yaris. Too much $$$$ to get the Talon back up to a resonable level to drive daily. |

i'll be using 195/50/16 in the front, and 205/50/16 in the rears. only reason im staggering the tire sizes is because i got a great deal on some used 195's, otherwise i'd go 205/50/16 all around. 205/50 is way easier to find tires for than 195/50. tire rack is selling 205/50/16 z-rated kuhmo 711's for $48 a piece, 195/50/16 h-rated for $49 each :D
