New motor or?
My 08 yarris has been using oil and its getting worse. It has almost 300,000 on it.
Has anybody put a new motor in their yaris or got something else? Thoughts? Thanks. |

Nope, I haven't changed the motors in my 2 Yaris'. One has 200k and the other has 115k. At the shop I work at engine replacements in Toyotas just don't happen. Was your Yaris well maintained, frequent oil changes? I'd start by changing the pcv valve.

What oil spec do you use?
I would start with compression measurements for all cylinders. If they are more or less the same and on the lower numbers of the spec, you can try using one degree thicker oil. That usually helps with better piston sealing and lowers the oil consumption. |
