TA60 carina with 2NZ-FE from yaris + turbox2

in 2013 i fitted 2NZ to my winter beater with itb setup from honda cbr.
It made 100whp.

2014 summer install turbo, stock internals abou 150whp and made hole in block. Next engine i made fith cp 1NZ na pistons(in 2NZ they give lowwer compression ratio) and autoverdi custom rods. Also add piston cooling jets

https://photos.app.goo.gl/6CRnX6Er83hncWzF8

little mods every year, and last summer finally get 260whp on dyno.

Turbo starting to get little too small and boost doping in hi rpm, so in autumn i made new turbo system.

calculated on injector pw engine power was about 360hp

It last about week and this happed

Can you share more info on that itb setup?
Also what are you using for management

i just use prius intake gasket as template aluminium is easy material even hand tools. weld everything, almoust straight pipes.

First i use megasquirt1 lots of self made mods both yaris and cbr injectors was in use.
Later made new intake with single throttle and same time go to migrosquirtmodule with some mods.

using vvt only on off mode, mechanical limiter in actuator to limit max advance.

What kind of engine management are you using? Seems like everything is blowing up. Why do you think that is happening? Do you think the melted piston was from a lack of lubrication, or just too much heat? 360 hp is very impressive! Do you have build threads anywhere?

i use mifrosquirt module. reason to failure is 2bar boost + 10:1 compression ration + previous litle damages to engine. couple light cratches on cylinder wall causes litle leak and that causes heat to piston. "New" block is ready and waiting pistons. this time lot lower compression ratio.

Haha, that is a lot of boost! Can you tell me more about the Mifrosquirt? I've heard of Megasquirt before. I have the AEM F/IC and don't like it. I can't control partial throttle partial boost fueling in closed loop well enough.

migrosquirt is based ms2 less options but smaller, migrosquirt module is migrosquirt without casing. only thing wrong is that it can't control vvt-i in closedloop. I use vvt-i only on/off mode and made mechanical limit inside vvt-i actuator.

w58 i weld new mounting plate to bellhousing. new injectors and fuelpump is coming 957cc injectors max out and fuelpump can't keep 4bar basepressure in high boost.

2.4bar is now max boost. Stock yaris clutch pressureplate with cerametallick disk can hold all torque engine is making.

hot damn thats fast, especialy for a tiny motor, i loved 8th mile for a time with my 67 barracuda

to be making that kind of power and actualy working it..out of a 1300 is incredibly impressive

i mean i was thrilled to get 400hp NA out of a hybrid 20/22r in a gen1 celica but to be making almost that same power out of 700CC less is astounding
