That's great! Only I didn't even know it supports outside temp. I'll have to look into it.

i'll have to try this one... i've been just using the Air Intake temp for a rough guess. Sucks that way, often times the AI is off by 10-15F compared to thermometers on bank signs.

yeah, air intake temp is much warmer use the scangauge II web site, go to xgauge commands, use CANSF ambient air. use the latest guide, and nothing that says experimental it is dead-on accurate and takes data from the probe for the a/c unit. if you have A/C your yaris will have the temp probe. this is nice to know when you are driving in freezing rain or wet roads close to freezing. |

Has anyone else tried this on a pre-2010? It doesn't work on my 09, nor on Crashy, as neither of their ECMs support the OBD PID "01 46".

here is the code I loaded Ambient Air Temperature (F) 07DF0146 04410546 2808 00090005FFD8 AIR Degrees Fahrenheit I haven't tested below zero, to see if it will throw a neg in there.... it only got to 9 degrees at home so far and my Yaris blew me a 7, 8, 9, 11 all the way to work. it is dead-on accurate (my home probe is on the sunny side, my Yaris is downhill from it, hence colder) The other built-in indicator on the scangauge (FIa) Intake air was showing 22-24 deg (not useful data) |

After I tried it (and also tried it directly by CAN bus message to the ECM) I realized that you have a 2010. When I request the list of supported PIDs from the ECM 0146 is masked as an unsupported PID, so I have a feeling that ambient air temp is a new PID for 2010.

Well, here's the ghetto way. It's worked well since August when I put it in the car.
