Want to go to US to buy some Yaris parts, possible ?
Hello,
It's my first topic here but I've been here quite some times. I'm in Thailand. Is it possible to go to US, walking in the Toyota show room to order/buy brand new Yaris parts ? I want to buy the speedometer which has the cruise control signal, security, ipod, and door lock switches located at the center console (in Thailand, there is only AUX) In Thailand, you can buy any parts in the showroom. Anyway you have to order and wait for your parts depending on the stock availability. Is the US the same ? Normally for how long to get the parts after ordering ? Could I do it in any states of America ? Thank you so much PS My car has a very plain look outside, but I need to fully assemble all the stuffs inside. |

Adding that in Thailand we've managed to modify and use the cruise control by some
mod shops (no this option in Thailand Toyota list) so that's why I'm craving for US-spec speedometer. |

Sorry Redride, I just read your reply which was already deleted.
It doesn't matter, but if what you say is true, fantastic ! I don't know it's a smart way to do or not but I've always wanted to go to the state at least once in my live (also Japan of course) so it's my great opportunity to visit there for my vacation also (May be many of you used to have a vacation here in Thailand) |

I deleted it beacuse I think I might have misread your original post.
You can order any part but it has to be a part for the USDM. |

I understand it. The USDM parts are what I need. Anyway thank you so much. What you did is really helping me out. For some latest news in return. The Yaris model will be omitted here in Thailand, meaning no next gen Yaris. It's already decided by Toyota Motor Thailand to stop the production of Yaris after 2 or 3 years from now. They will replace it with a brand new model which is still a secret. I know it because I know someone in Project Planning & Management Dept of TMAP-EM. I don't know it'll affect the US Yaris production or not because Yaris is a Toyota's global model. The reason they'll desert the Yaris is that it's deeply outsold by Honda Fit or Jazz that even the next gen model won't help defeat the Jazz. The Vios or Yaris Sedan sales is still conquering the market so it will go on as Vios (but for the next gen it'll be a Yaris sedan body or not, I don't know). So my dear Yaris will be immortal here in Thailand, nothing to worry about newer Yaris he he he. That's why I decided to complete it's options and everything. ^ ^ Ofcourse I don't know about TMC plan. In Japan, Yaris's still having a very good reputation so I just believe that they should continue it. |

if you're staying at a hotel, call them to see if they will accept packages for you. then you can order the parts from a US dealer and have them shipped to the hotel

I am not sure what is the procedure for ordering parts from the US dealers, but if you can find the part number it should be possible! Very interesting, your news that the Yaris will be stopped here after this generation... I wonder what the successor will be....

But it's implausible, I think... When I'm ordering parts from a dealer in Thailand, I've to check and confirm with them the part no. and everything. It's very easy to order the wrong part without confirming with them face to face. I need their advice, suggestion also in case that I need to order some other necessary parts. |

No, I definitely cannot find the part no. even though from a Thailand Toyota SMS system itself (I know an insider). At least you've to know the production model code of Yaris in the US (Never able to find in Thailand, must be US insider or TMC designers themselves) and crack down the routing of the parts/componets tree which's very sophisticated. Simple reason is that TMC system designers don't want us to know the whole part/component structure. To find a Toyota part no. is not secret but is too much complicated. |

^ ^ From design process of the Thailand Yaris replacing model until it's complete as a production model will be 2 years from now. The clock is ticking. We must look for some spy shot at that time. |

hmm....How about you send us some parts from Thailand and we will send you the parts you want from the US...
edit. My dealership has most parts in stock. However if they don't then they can usually have them overnighted or within 2-3 days from a main warehouse.

page, the US spec has everything already. Usually Thailand spec is lower than any other countries. Shipping parts from Japan or Europe to US would be ideal (for Auto air condition for instance). |
