Looking for lightweight 8 spoke rims like these

Looking for any rims similar to Borbet LV4, Fastwheels Vice, or Blitz BRW Profile 08.

Trying to find a lightweight 17" wheel like this, but they are all around 19-23 pounds. Might have to go with a 16" wheel.

Love the Borbets. Like the 8 spoke look and no extra holes.

Jill (dvlnblkdrs) has those on hers now. I am sure she can give you more info on those if you need it.

I think the Borbets are heavier than what the OP is looking for, but he wants the multi-spoke, no-lip, light weight deal.

Yes Garm, I know, but being female I really think "pretty" is the most important thing.

Do lighter wheels really make that much difference?

Well... if you're looking at 9lb wheels vs. 23lb wheels, then the answer is definitely yes. However, with most inexpensive aftermarket wheel applications, the answer is realistically... no "significant" difference... and far too many make far too much about the wheel weight issue.

Exactly, if there was a lightweight forged version I would pick that up.

I was considering the Kosei K1 TS because it only weighs 14 pounds, and the Kyowa Racing KR595 Gunmetal, but I don't want it to look too exposed. I like the bold look of the Borbet's, and don't want too much space because I will probably have painted calipers behind it.

Too much open space shows off the calipers too much, but the Borbets will offer a flirty little peek without being in your face about it.

At 17.2 lbs for the 17" rims it isn't bad, but 10 spokes to me look a little messy. I like 8 spokes because it looks balanced and symmetrical, if you can look at it that way, kinda like a Norman cross.

I liked the colour when I first came across it, but like it is not my style. I would rather go 6 spoke than 10.

MY concern is unsprung weight in regards to acceleration and braking.

The tires I want are Yokohama AVID H4S 205/40R17 at 22lbs, the Borbets weight 21.5.

The stock alloy rims with tires weight 34 lbs, so my weight increase is 28%.

My choices right now are to go with a 6 spoke wheel (the KR595 is 5 pounds lighter), go for the Borbet, go down to a 16" rim, or wait for the new spring lineups to come out.

a couple of things confuse me about your statements. you dont want to see TOO much of the calipers, but you want 17's....which will really show off how tiny the stock brakes and calipers are....

you also want to minimize unsprung weight, but again want 17's....which are generally heaver and push weight further out from the wheels' center.

all that aside, get light rims. oem 15" alloys are about 18lbs by themselves. personally, the best combonation of looks and performance would be light weight 16's....not TOO much tire, but enough to maintain more comfort, AND likely easier to find lighter ones....

i notice a HUGE difference in acceleration and braking going from my 14" steelies w/ 185-60-14 and crandalls car w/ 17's and 215-40-17

Here's a 12-spoke and a split 6-spoke. Looks pretty good.

Closest I can find is the 17x9, comes in at 24.25 lbs.

What's so confusing? I want to have 17" wheels, but I want a lightweight 17 so that I can mitigate the negative effects of a larger size.

I would like a big brake upgrade later, but the pics I've seen so far don't look too bad with stock brakes. I like the look of a thicker spoke, and don't want thin spokes.

What tire and wheel combination is Crandall using? That makes all the difference. If I went for 17" General Altimax HP 205-40/R17 with Kosei K1 TS it would weight 32 lbs, 2 pounds lighter than stock 15" alloys.
