Trouble with a/c

Hello guys, I have a 2010 Toyota Yaris sedan (here in South Florida) with 105,000 miles. No problems with A/C up to May 2020. In May 2020, my dad noticed that refrigerant volume in A/C system was low so he added some refrigerant (he has equipment to measure A/C pressure, add or remove regrigerant, etc). However, the A/C has been acting up since. A/C blows cold air for some time, then warm air for some time, then cold air again, then warm air, back and forth. We notice (with the hood up) that the cooling fan turns on and off in unison with the A/C condenser engaging on and off. Tell me guys, what's going on? Please provide any guidance/details/suggestions. Thank you

What pressures were you getting on the high and low sides and what was the ambient temp when pressures were tested? Condensor fan operation sounds normal. It may also turn on if you have your HVAC unit in defrost/windshield mode. What refrigerant was used?

Make sure there are no gaps in the sealing of the condenser to the radiator. The air drawn through the radiator is also drawn through the condenser. A leaky gap could cause air to be drawn from between the sides.
