Best Grease to use on the belt?

Ok well after tryin so many times trying to get the 14mm bolt off the pulley, the belt is now makin a very loud squeakin noise.

The loud screeching sound is from the belt. The noise only screeches when i start the car, and the noise only goes for about 1 - 4 seconds then it goes away. And this scares the fook outa me....

What is the best grease / oil / lube to use on the belt to prevent it from makin that awful screeching noise when i turn on the engine.

so is this a tension issue or do you need the lubrication? I know there are sprays out there but don't know what is best. I guess I am kinding of raising another question rather than answering yours.

Don't grease anything man! The reason its squealing is because its slipping a bit.
There is a spray you can use, it sets up tacky to help keep the belt from slipping. But your best bet is to just buy a new belt and make sure you have proper tension on itt.

1122 usefull posts, and now you want to grease a belt????

what does grease do? make things slippy, yeah it won't squeal, it won't do anything, the pulleys will spin, and the belt won't go ahead try it...

yea that 14mm is a pain in the ass. What I found did the trick was put on a pair of gloves, grab a 14mm closed end wrench and just pull up. It works better if you make multiple hard pulls cause you will have a better chance to break it free.

Increase the tension if it's slipping but DO NOT grease the belt. If increasing the tension (don't over tension it) doesn't work, get some belt dressing. That stuff will increase the tackiness of the belt and eliminate the slipping. Overall, a new car with a new belt, proper tension is prabablty your only problem.

Use it sparingly, a little bit goes a long way.
