The end of wife’s 2005 Camry?
I noticed a tire on her car with a nail in it on Saturday. I was able to drive it to the shop so they could plug the tire. However on the way there the brake pedal fell halfway to the floor before the brakes worked. So they are looking at that.
The car is a 2005 with 185,000 miles. The rear drum brakes have never been done. Could that be the source of the problem? Oh I wish I could still work on cars! God knows what they will claim to be wrong. Then I have to deal with the wife to! Oh Horrors!

Interesting. If the brake pedal felt fine up to that point, then fell halfway to the floor, I wouldn't assume it was the drums. If it's gradually gotten to that point, then perhaps it needs brakes all around.

Good news?
Shop says the brakes are fine! They just rotated the tires and plug the tire with a nail in it. Oh well there’s something wrong I’m just going to go with what they say. If I could work on the car I would figure it out.

Probably a rusted brake line.

Do you think one of the circuits is out?

2005 Camry update
My wife’s brother Larry is a BMW car mechanic. For 40 years. He took my wife’s car in the shop the other day and put new struts in it which it’s needed for a couple of years. I haven’t heard yet if He looked at the brakes, but he went all through the car and fix what needs to be fixed. New air filter, new cabin filter, and offered to change the oil. I do that so my wife said no. By the way Larry says if you buy a new BMW, sell it before the warranty runs out!

Here's a good discussion on where to buy new brakes for a good price https://somespeed.com/questions/for-...liable-source/. You can ask other questions there if you want to repair something.

The wife’s 2005 Camry is running great, although the brake pedal still seems a little low to me. My brother-in-law the mechanic says it’s not a problem. She’s no longer driving the car 50 miles away and back on Sunday to see my daughter and her family the three adopted kids . She takes the 2020 corolla for that. So she’s only driving her car about 8000 miles a year instead of 13 or 14,000.
I am happy with that!

The Camry is a great car. My uncle's Camry is around 25 years old and still going strong. I want to keep my Yaris for as long as possible. I want to keep my Yaris as long as the guy in this video has kept his Corolla, Maynard the Miser. Good stuff.

I've seen more old Corolla in good condition than Camry. Hopefully your rig would be able to reach that kind of longevity.
