NST short shifter (in bay)

So im having a bit of trouble understanding if the NST short shifter will work with my yaris. My yaris is a 3door hatch, 2010. The website (maybe im blind) only shows to 2009. This would be my first mod and only mod for a long time.

Can someone confirm the 2009 will work on my 10? Im assuming that the in bay mod would be better than the other? would you recommend a splurge and getting the bushing along with it?

EDIT: Cant find a TRD kit that says it will work with a 2010. :(

it will not fit without some small grinding modifications from what i have read on the forums.. do a quick search. there is a thread here that shows where u need to grind the bracket to make it fit the later in the year 09-2011.. it will fit with some small modifications.

^ It's actually a 50/50 chance that it will fit with no filing or modifications at all.

Here is the DIY for the filing modification, which means you file off a small corner.

These comments pertain to the NST engine bay SSK. I don't know why someone would pay more for a TRD part that is identical, but it's up to the individual customer, of course.

Oh cool NST finally added the bracket to adjust the cable angle?

Besides, the NST SSK that you sell on your website is backordered so its a non-issue.

saving money is always an issue, and always something I'm going to point out.

But it doesnt have the bracket, id pay more to have bracket that comes standard on the TRD SSK. Not going to save me money later if i have to replace parts due to a very preventable failure.

I thought you wanted an answer to your implied question of why someone would pay more for an "identical" part. Wasn't trying to be rude...

Garm, I'd like to point out that I at no point influenced this decision in anyway, nor have I ever contacted the OP via here or elsewhere.

Since you're here, will the TRD fit onto a 2010? I hate the idea that i have to bet on the idea that the NST MIGHT fit onto my yaris.

you're missing it. It's not whether or not the NST will fit, it's whether or not you need to modify it to make it fit. If it fits out of the box, it will drop right in. If you have to modify it, it literally takes about 5 seconds with a sanding drum on a dremel. You just need to barely shave it. It's a minor modification. I know what you're thinking though...I was up in the air for a while before I finally bought it...i was worried about having to buy something and then potentially have to modify it to fit. I DID have to modify it, but it's cake dude. Either way though, it WILL work on your car.
