How hard is it to remove side skirts and front lip on 08 sports package?
I am thinking of buying a 2008 hatchback sports package model, there is one at my local toyota, the perfect color for me, I like many any of the features on the car like the tach, interior design, spoiler and fog lamps.I do not like the the side skirts, front lip and the rear lip.Essentially I want the exterior to look exactly like a standard liftback, minus the fog lamps and rear spoiler which looks a thousand times better than the sports package to me.Anyways how hard would it be to remove the skirts and the front and rear lips, I pretty much have no experience with working with cars though.

i'm pretty sure they're all held on by bolts. the front lip is probably held on by 8 bolts, the side shirts by 6-8 bolts, and the rear lip by 8 bolts. everything on your car is basically held on by bolts. if you look at the ends of the side skirts, you should be able to see two bolts, etc.

If you remove the body kit, you'll be left with a bunch of holes! I don't think you'll want to do that.

Just wondering- What the main difference between the new '08 "S" edition compared to the base model?

I have decided to go with the standard liftback sorry (.The original liftback body looks so much better than the sport package body that I am not even going to mess with it, I can live without the tach, I would still like to get the fog lights though.Anyone know how hard they would be to install, my local dealership says only the sport packages can have fog lights put on.

I think you've made a good decision. I hate the new "S" lip kit as well.
BTW, the dealer can install fogs on any Yaris, so I don't know what's up with your local dealer. |

not true, there is no dealer 'after the factory' fog light kit, at least that was the case when I bought my car. they said it would cost like $400 as they had to buy all the different parts seperately... just get jimcats one for $80

Could Jimcats be changed to HID's ? I did not ask would they blind people or not on that one.
And where could we order them? Thanks! |
