It may be a tiny car...
But damn those toyota engineers did something right when they were planning for safety.
Interesting article: http://gas2.org/2008/10/21/are-tiny-...saved-my-life/

It's all about the crumple zones.... Better see the car absorb all the energy and get really messed up, than your head...

It's wonderful you came through the accident without any major problems. Thanks for sharing with us. Personally, I'm sharing this with my insurance company.

Don't think it was PaidTimeOff that got into that accident, it's just an article he found.

Some of the biggest complaints I have heard about the Yaris is what Happens in an accident. People still justifing owning a SUV.

Of course airbags and seat belts might make you safer but sometimes they do just as much damage. No matter the crash test rating of a car I think a big part of it is going to come down to luck.

If I was that person I would spend some time in church. I imagine it was a wild ride.

i had a family member roll a van over 3 times and had no seat belt on and all that happened was some bruised arms and legs and a pulled muscle in arm. didnt even leave the drivers seat. alot of a wreck is luck and how it happens exactly.

It's great that you're in one piece. I'll feel a little safer now in the sea of trucks I drive through during my morning drive.

The second article (about the psychology of safety) reminds me of a story. A classmate of mine from high school is one of the worst drivers you could ever want to lay eyes upon. Immediately after she got her license, her parents spent about $15k buying her a fairly low mileage Ford Explorer, "for safety." It wasn't two weeks that she rolled that thing onto it's roof, totaling it in the process. A few weeks later she had sprung $500 for a 1989 VW Golf. Despite a burned out clutch, as far as I know it is still going....5 years later.

Luck or Religion, there was van rollover next to my old place where the van ran a red light, hit a car fliped a couple times covering 30ft going through a steel fence at the mexican resturant. The guy got out of the upside down van holding the cross that was around his neck.
