They set up a special section for it, outside of their general forums. It used to be all together at one point. Scion IA Forum > 2016+ Scion iA / Toyota Yaris iA Issues, Problems, Defects And Recalls > iA Issues And Problems https://www.scioniaforum.com/forum/1...sues-problems/ And yes, Consumer Reports is a joke with regards to their car reviews, but the mainstream consumer doesn't know any better & simply follows their recommendations like the bible (surprise, surprise). Consumer Reports is more concerned with backseat/trunk space, infotainment system features/interface & how many sensor so-called 'safety features' for idiot/bad drivers a vehicle has than they are about major/core mechanical components like low/random-reliability push-belt CVT's, carbon-sludge prone straight GDI engine designs, etc. I loved how they bashed the old-school 4-spd automatic transmission in the Yaris & the tried-and-true port-injected 1NZ-FE engine, despite those mechanical systems being 100x more reliable/trustworthy than the 'more modern' CVT+GDI cars that they highly recommend such the Fit or whatever. Newer, shinier tech is always better, after all. There is a reason that the authentic Yaris hatch is a great selling car in most of the rest of the world in its segment, even if the USA market just doesn't get it. I don't blame Toyota for discontinuing it here though. Sales numbers don't lie, and our particular market is more enamored with different types of vehicles, & as much new, shiny tech-bloat as you can cram into a car (useful or not, reliable or not).

I just bought a 2019 Yaris L Sedan this morning. I think the grille looks like an angry fish--I love the Blue Planet series, especially the episode about deep sea critters.
![]() I needed a car fast, and I am glad to have found something quickly. With a 100-mile R/T commute, also happy it only had 15,276 miles when I drove it away. ![]() |
