2012 3 Door Spyshots

I didn't notice any 2012 3 Door pics in any of the threads so far - did I miss any?

Just found this link today to some 3 Door spyshots. The 3 Door better make it to the U.S.!

Kinda cool, but I'd like to see one without all that tape. Still think the current 3dr is sharper lookin'...

Rear discs may mean the Euro or Asian market versions. Then again if it's a hybrid...maybe it will have discs.
I'm liking it.

Thankfully, the 3-door doesn't appear to have that extremely popular A-shaped rear pillar. The ugly "pinched-nose" front end seems to be Toyota's new design direction.

Easily fixed- can be tinted or taped without messing with the rear window. I'm sure there'll be aftermarket lights as well.

Yeah, I'm glad the 3-door retained its unique styling for the rear side windows. The pinched-nose thing makes 'em look more agressive- guess that's what the market demands nowadays.

If the third gen truly ends up looking like the spy shots, then I feel relieved. I too prefer the second gen style so I wouldn't trade mine in right away (something Toyota probably doesn't want to hear) but if something unexpected were to happen to my current car, I would happily buy this third gen. Yeah, it's all about the c-pillar; I hate the current "A-shape" trend (of other cars)...

Ugh I'm so not a fan of the new front. I liked the Mazda smiley face more.

I'm not crazy about the redesigned front, but I prefer it over the 2nd gen's. 2nd gen's is cute, but a bit too (quirky) cute for me.

Overall, 2nd gen looks too "20-something". It looks like the 3rd gen can pass more for 30-something (probably requires some upgrades). I'd like for it to appeal to all age ranges and lifestyles, of course (hopefully even hip empty nesters).

Thank goodness the C pillar is better than the new 4D's.

I hope the 3 extra inches in length means 3+ extra inches to the cargo bed length (w/ rear seats folded).
