Which brake drum brand should I buy?
The inner diameter on both of my brake drums on my 2010 Yaris are at the recommended maximum 201mm. So I want to replace them.
Rockauto has Bendix, ACDelco, Dynamic Friction, Centric, Raybestos, and Beck/Arnley drums. The Centric and Raybestos are listed as Economy, so they might not be as good as the others. Which brand brake drum is best? They are all similarly priced. Thanks for any replies. |

Use what ever is the cheapest.
Seriously, I used the cheapest drums and rotors from Rock Auto on my yaris track car without issue. If there is an issue with cheap drums typically it is in their runout. If that is the case then you would be a pulsating coming from the rear under braking and you would know if right away.

I highly recommend Fremax (forged and made in Brazil with steel made in Brazil also)...
I put a set on my 2017 Elantra so far NICE!.. but will see how well they stand the test of time for corrosion. Next summer planning to do full brake job on my sons Yaris , and will be using Femax rotors and drums.. Quote:

Hell, I'd have the original drums turned, unless your car has 250k miles they should be in spec to turn them. Oem is the best quality.

My local parts comnpany lists 3 different brand drums for the Yaris. They range in price from AU$80 to AU$100 each, and are all listed as "Special Order". In other words, they are not normally stocked, but you can order them. I would be asking how long they take to arrive once orderde, and go with whichever is the fastest.

Did you measure them with one of these? A tape measure isn't going to cut. Some parts stores tell you they are out of spec just to sell parts. Try a machine shop.
