Yaris Recalls ????
ne1 heard of the Yaris recalls for 06 and 07 models bc of the seatbelt failure that if u have a collision right when the belts tighten up they release a gas from it that can be flammable and of course DEADLY!!! wth? is this true for alll Yaris?

Please look around and use the search function...... the moderators who "try" to keep things organized have their hands full (when they are sober ) and will have to lock up or move around posts to keep things tidy. Don't freak out..... you will probably not die from a seatbelt fault but you might if you do not wear one!

Like you said '06 & '07 models that doesn't sound like all to me (grin) but if you feel paranoid visit (or phone) a Toyota dealer or two with your VIN - let us know what U find out !

Secondly, skip the hysteria. There has been a SINGLE occurrence where the heat from the seat belt tensioner was so extreme that it caused the insulation to catch fire. Yep, ONE! But Toyota initiated a recall to be on the safe side. By the way, back in the 70s I drove a Ford Pinto. People claimed those things would blow up if you looked at them wrong; but if mine didn't blow up, I seriously doubt any of them would. I had mine airborne and went offroading with it. I beat the snot out of that poor car and it never exploded on me. Cheers! M2 |

I have not received anything yet on the recall, I think it may be another few weeks before they get the communication and training out to all the dealers. I have yet to receive anything on my 2007 Yaris Sedan. So I don't know how quickly they will make the notification or know what VINS are affected, but from the number its a good chunk if not all.
