I work at a print shop as a designer and the desk calendar idea would be more than say a wall calendar because of the binding. Stitching (or stapling) would be a lot cheaper. Some of the things that effect pricing is what kind of paper (& how much), how it is bound, color, holes drilled, whether there is a bleed or not (where the color runs off the page), and quantity. I think maybe using some 11.5x17.5 paper, cutting it down to 11x17 with a bleed, and folding it in half would be the cheaper way to go. If someone else wants to design it or I can, preferably with something from Adobe like InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator, I can easily get it printed for cost of materials. I think a 100# glossy book paper would work great for this. We do calenders all the time. They could be coil bound, but that adds to the cost quite a bit.

It's called a mosaic. A SUPER good idea for the cover I think. I have tried some software out there that does that, but nothing I have found works too well... Anyone know of some software that actually works? I know the picture turns out better with more pictures...

EDIT: Found some decent software with a 30 day trial. Only thing is I'm going to need a LOT of pictures. I'll start gathering!

ok i think we need this first.......... a commitee to do screening to pick the final 24 ( or whatever number) pictures for us, YW member to vote by a date.

The 24 pictures will be posted here for member to vote for the final 12 and finally the cover picture.

Commitee then submit those photos to the person thats going to send it off to the printing company

And the clock is ticking... altho. its just the end of August, but in order to have all the photos submitted, screened and time for us to vote and find a nice company to print and submit it to them and have them all printed and ready for 2008 requires a lot of time and work

we'll wait for you...i guess.. , just don't take to long.

like i said before, something open space will be a plus for vote.
people want stuff like this...to take out their daily stress.

hahaha..this might get you in trouble..but just an idea,
find an empty stadium and couple of photos in the middle of the field..will be cool enough.

I still think the Yaris girls suggestion is a good idea!! I also saw a calender that had a pic on everyday of the year. We have alot of members and filling 365 would be easy!!!
