Hi Yaris T-sport
What are you using to control your fuel and ignition timing? The tapping/cracking sound you are hearing is pre-ignition. What you need to do is take ignition time out until it stop detonating. Stay with NGK #7 and don't run gas lower then 91 octane.

Look in to AEM's F/IC controller or Greddy E-manage. Look in your area for a shop that can install it and tune your car for you. I know a shop in Chino area Bisimoto Engineering 909-464-1262 give them a call if their close to you.
